NIGERIA CHRISTIAN CORPERS’ FELLOWSHIP (NCCF) ABUJA is one of the 37 chapters of NIGERIA CHRISTIAN CORPERS’ FELLOWSHIP (NCCF) nationwide with its head quarters in Jos Nigeria. Like all other chapters we have the mandate to take the Goodnews of our Lord Jesus Christ to the far ends of the world, as He has instructed us to; “Go into the world and preach the Gospel”. Our core mission is RURAL RUGGED EVANGELISM popularly called “RUGGED”.
Rural Rugged Evangelism is the manifestation of the divine prophecy given to Pa. S.G Elton, a missionary to Nigeria who said that a time will come the Nigerian Government would pay her youths to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nooks and crannies of the Nation. This has been carried on over the years in form of rural outreaches, street evangelism, children ministry, visit to orphanages and remand homes among others.
NIGERIA CHRISTIAN CORPERS’ FELLOWSHIP (NCCF) was a bold step of faith taken about 27 years ago by early youth corps members immediately after the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps scheme in 1973. The organization (duly registered) has ever since then been committed to her core vision Rural Rugged Evangelism.
WHAT WE DO AT RURAL RUGGED EVANGELISM.
- We take the Gospel into interior villages
- We meet the spiritual needs of the people
- We distribute welfare materials such as drugs and medications, clothes, shoes, food, buckets etc
- We educate and enhance the children’s Educational pursuit
The fellowship through her six zones invests million of Naira into this divine course every year. Aside the Gospel that is being propagated through the above media, welfare materials are given to the host communities. The whole Rural Rugged Evangelism has been largely funded out of the meager payment made by NCCF members who have decided to pay some amount from their Government paid allowance popularly called “ALLOWEE” over the years. The effort of some senior friends (ex-NCCF members) cannot be overlooked also as they contribute immensely to the general growth and welfare of NCCF Abuja.
The story of the fulfillment of Pa S.G Elton’s prophecy is not complete without acknowledging the coming into being of an effective forum in our nation – National Youth Service Corps. This body from which the fellowship sprouted has its lined up goals. These can be summarized into nation building, national unity and development. No doubt the fellowship has come a long way all through the years, likewise this National Youth Service Corps in pursuing the vision which gave birth to her. Nevertheless there lies ahead a vast area to conquer by these bodies both individually and collectively.
It is no longer news that the foundation of the fellowship’s existence is to propagate the Goodnews of Jesus Christ to every nook and cranny of Nigeria. Organizing of Rural Rugged outreaches (crusades) is an effective forum in the achievement of this, just as it has been. Also, it will to a large extent, expedite the spread of the Gospel to the interiors of each state of the federation.
The on-going construction work of the state family house located in Mararaba and that of Kubwa zone among others has been a great blessing to the family at large, as the family house accommodates Christian Corps members that are not able to get private accommodation either temporarily or permanently during their service year and also serves as shelter to corps members on transit from any part of the country in all the Area councils of the nation’s capital. These facilities have helped in enhancing the spiritual lives of Christian Corps members throughout the FCT as well as promoting brotherliness among corps members as we have corps members from different and varying backgrounds, languages and ethnicity living together in the family houses.
The body is duly registered with the corporate affairs commission and we have advisers, patrons both male and female who help out in running fellowship by providing parental care, advice, spiritual and financial support to the fellowship.
